Set on the banks of a river, Attreyapuram is a tiny village in Andhra Pradesh’s Konaseema region. It’s best known as the origin place of Pootharekulu, the sheer sweet these roughly translates to “sugar-coated paper” and dissolve on the tongue. Outside of its role as a confectionary haven, Attreyapuram is home to lush coconut groves, meandering backwaters and warm communities, eager to welcome visitors to partake in their storied heritage.
On this three-day, two-night escape, you’ll learn how to roll Pootharekulu with master sweet-makers, sail down coconut-flanked canals, and visit nearby temples and wildlife sanctuaries.
