Day 1

DAY 1 – Getting there & Walking tour of the village

Arrive at the homestay and enjoy a traditional welcome to the village and lunch prepared using fresh, locally available produce.

In the afternoon, we'll start exploring Mawlynnong on foot. As we walk the length and breadth of this hamlet, we can admire the elaborate bamboo dustbins that dot the spotless lanes of the village and the carefully tended gardens around the traditional Khasi homes.

The highlight of our day is a visit to the nearby village of Riwai to see the spectacular Jingmaham Living Root Bridge. Living Root Bridges are a marvel of nature and engineering and have been used by the local Khasi people for centuries.

From there we'll make our way to the Sky View Point - an 85-foot bamboo machan through which you can enjoy brilliant views of the rolling hills and the plains of Bangladesh.

Return to the homestay for a traditional dinner with your hosts followed by an exchange of stories and cultures.

DAY 2 – The crystal clear waters of Dawki

Our day kicks off with a day trip to Dawki, a town located around 45 minutes from Mawlynnong. Our main plan for the day relies around sailing in a boat in the river Umngot in Dawki.

These boat rides are famous for the crystal clear water, so clear that you can see right to the bottom of the river, and the boats look like they’re floating in thin air. You’ll also get to see a glimpse of the Indo-Bangladesh border.

All throughout this tranquil activity, you’ll be surrounded by lush hills and the iconic Dawki suspension bridge, an absolute treat for those with an eye for photography.

We will have lunch in a small restaurant on the banks of the river before heading back to Mawlynnong for a quiet evening.

Day 3

DAY 3 – Final Exploration & Departure

After a final breakfast at the homestay, we will take you to see the unique "Balancing Rock," a geological feature in which a massive boulder rests precariously on a much smaller stone.

We will also make a brief stop at the beautiful Mawlynnong waterfall, a largely unexplored gem tucked away within the village's abundant greenery.

Enjoy this last morning of peace, and pick up any remaining local handicrafts or souvenirs.

After lunch, we will assist you in checking out and preparing for your onward travel, and armed with memories from this once-in-a-lifetime Meghalayan escape, you will set off on the next stage of your journey.
